Surgical Technology Program Director & Instructor

About the role

The Hall County campus of Lanier Technical College seeks a full‑time Surgical Technology Program Director and Instructor to lead and teach the Surgical Technology program. This salaried, FLSA‑exempt position reports to the Dean of Allied Health and includes both administrative leadership and classroom instruction.

Key responsibilities

• Provide program leadership, curriculum development, and continuous improvement for the Surgical Technology program.
• Coordinate course scheduling, budget requests, accreditation documentation, and advisory committee meetings.
• Hire, onboard, and mentor faculty members.
• Develop and deliver Surgical Technology courses in classroom, lab, and field settings.
• Maintain program certification, assess student outcomes, and support student recruitment, retention, and job placement.

Required profile

• Associate degree in Surgical Technology from a regionally accredited institution.
• National certification as a Surgical Technologist.
• At least five years of recent experience in an operating‑room scrub role, as an instructor, or a combination of both.
• Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.

Required skills

• Surgical Technology clinical expertise.
• Curriculum planning and instructional design.
• Experience with Blackboard Learning Management System.
• Accreditation and compliance documentation.
