Surgical Technologist Weekender Flex – Cardiothoracic OR

About the role

The Surgical Technologist will work in the Cardiothoracic OR on Cleveland Clinic’s Main Campus, providing scrub and circulating support for high‑acuity cardiac surgeries. This is a Weekender Flex position requiring two 12‑hour weekend shifts and one 12‑hour weekday shift, with full‑time status and benefits.

Key responsibilities

• Perform scrub duties, maintain a sterile field, and pass instruments during procedures.
• Assist with circulating functions under the direction of a Registered Nurse, including counting sponges and instruments.
• Prepare and set up sterile tables, supplies, drugs, and equipment for surgeries.
• Collect, label, and hand over specimens to the circulator.
• Participate in intra‑operative time‑outs and ensure aseptic conditions throughout the case.

Required profile

• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program (CCAAHEP or ABHES) or equivalent certification (TS‑C, CST, military program, or LPN license).
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Ability to work weekend and weekday shifts with on‑call availability within one hour.
• Physical ability to stand, walk, lift up to 25 lb, and handle surgical equipment.
