Surgical Technologist – Neuro/Spine OR – Neuro Expansion

About the role

The Surgical Technologist will support the Neuro/Spine operating rooms in the new Neuro Expansion facility at Cleveland Clinic Main Campus. You will work in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment, assisting surgeons and nurses to ensure safe, high‑quality surgical care.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare the operating room by organizing supplies, setting up sterile instrumentation, and performing surgical counts.
• Assist the surgical team by gowning, gloving, draping, passing instruments, and maintaining a sterile field throughout procedures.
• Collect, label, and hand over specimens to the circulator for proper disposition.
• Participate in intra‑operative time‑outs and ensure compliance with aseptic techniques.

Required profile

• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program (CAAHEP or ABHES) or equivalent military program.
• Certification as a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or Certified Tech in Surgery (TS‑C) if not graduated from an accredited program.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Ability to work days (7:00 AM–3:30 PM or 10:00 AM–8:30 PM) with on‑call requirements.

Required skills

• Proficiency in sterile field setup and maintenance.
• Experience with surgical instrument handling, counts, and specimen processing.
• Knowledge of operating room safety protocols and infection control.
