Surgical Technologist – Day Shift

About the role

The Cleveland Clinic Main Campus pediatric surgery team seeks a Surgical Technologist to support safe, high‑quality operative care. This day‑shift position includes on‑call coverage and a 3‑month orientation.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and organize surgical supplies, set up sterile fields and instrument tables.
• Perform surgical counts, drape patients, and maintain aseptic conditions throughout procedures.
• Pass instruments and supplies to the surgical team, collect and label specimens, and ensure proper cleaning and sterilization of equipment.
• Provide on‑call coverage: two weeknight/weekend calls per month and occasional holiday calls.

Required profile

• Completion of an accredited surgical technology program (CAAHEP or ABHES) or equivalent military training.
• Certification as a Surgical Technologist (TS‑C or CST) or eligibility for certification.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Ability to lift up to 25 lb, push/pull carts >75 lb, and stand for extended periods.

Required skills

• Sterile field setup and maintenance.
• Instrument handling and surgical counts.
• Specimen collection and labeling.
• Knowledge of infection‑prevention and safety standards.
