About the role

The Applied Research Laboratory for Intelligence & Security (ARLIS) at the University of Maryland seeks a research professional to advance supply chain and economics analysis that supports U.S. national security objectives. You will work within interdisciplinary teams to assess resilience, industrial capacity, and economic impacts of emerging threats.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct interdisciplinary research on supply chain risk, industrial base, and economic security.
• Apply systems‑thinking and quantitative methods to evaluate complex national‑security problems.
• Produce technical reports, briefings, and actionable insights for government stakeholders.
• Engage with project partners, including government agencies and industry, to translate research findings into policy‑relevant recommendations.
• Support rapid‑analysis sprints, stakeholder workshops, and field‑informed studies.

Required profile

• Advanced knowledge of supply chain dynamics and economic analysis.
• Experience conducting interdisciplinary research in a security‑oriented environment.
• Strong written and oral communication skills for technical and policy audiences.
