Supplier Quality Engineer

About the role

The Supplier Quality Engineer at Adient's Northwood facility maintains plant-specific engineering documentation and records so that products delivered to customers meet specifications and comply with IATF 16949 standards. The role reports to the Quality Manager.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain up-to-date records tracking SMRR, RMA, PPM and SCB, and use IRIS to track SMRRs
• Validate and coordinate supplier PPAP submissions, and champion supplier key deliverables per control plan
• Coordinate with Materials and Production on engineering changes and monitor the implementation of changes
• Review daily production reports, end-of-month loop-zero reports and customer-specific requirements
• Verify product compliance using measurement tools and drawings, and review Control Plans, PFMEAs and other quality documents
• Build and test development samples, train Quality Technicians and lead troubleshooting of material and delivery issues
• Monitor assembly operations against statistical process control limits and report accidents, illnesses and HSE emergencies
• Have the authority to stop production in case of quality or safety issues

Required profile

• Degree in Engineering or equivalent quality-related experience and training
• 3 to 5 years of Quality Assurance experience, with emphasis on supplying the automotive industry
• Familiarity with IATF 16949 and ISO 9001; ASQ CQM/CQE/CQT certification preferred
