Senior Maintenance Manager

About the role

Agropur is looking for a Senior Maintenance Manager in Jerome, Idaho. The role oversees all maintenance activities and support of facilities, utilities and equipment, including automation, and works with Engineering on major plant projects. It sets the goals, strategies and objectives for the Maintenance department and team, and ensures safe, economical maintenance and repair of plant equipment while supporting production quantity and quality.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee maintenance functions in the manufacturing environment, including process and automation improvements, and drive projects with Engineering's support
• Run the plant maintenance program based on industry best practices, with planning/scheduling and preventive and predictive maintenance
• Analyze processes and systems, troubleshoot problems and recommend and implement improvements
• Mentor and develop maintenance, automation, projects and facilities teams, and guide building, facilities and utilities mechanics and automation personnel
• Support the Wastewater Treatment plant facility and oversee Process Safety Management functions
• Prepare technical specifications, project descriptions, bid documents and reports, and prepare and analyze data to recommend operational improvements
• Manage spare parts, maintenance supplies and equipment purchasing and inventory within budget and Global Sourcing policies
• Establish and maintain a computerized maintenance management system for work orders, spare parts and equipment history
• Train and motivate technicians, update operating and training manuals, and minimize unplanned downtime
• Improve energy efficiency, monitor and secure rebates, and coordinate with Plant Operations and other department managers
• Ensure compliance with safety, health and environmental policies through communication, training and coaching

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering required; other engineering disciplines or education may be considered
• Minimum 10 years of facility/maintenance experience in a food production environment
• Minimum 5 years of managerial experience
• 5 years of food processing experience preferred
• In-depth knowledge of the dairy plant and maintenance preferred
• Adequate knowledge of French required for positions in Quebec
