Supervisor, Credit & Collections (USABlueBook)

About the role

HDSupply is hiring a Supervisor, Credit & Collections for its USABlueBook business unit in Waukegan, IL. The supervisor oversees and coordinates all aspects of credit and collections, including notifying customers of delinquent accounts and collecting payments. The schedule is Monday to Thursday in the office (8:30am-5:00pm) and Friday remote, and candidates must live in or near Waukegan.

Key responsibilities

• Review and approve credit applications and prepare credit reports as directed.
• Persuade customers to pay amounts due on credit accounts, damage claims or non-payable checks, or negotiate extensions of credit.
• Report the status of accounts and contracts regularly and prepare legal documents as needed.
• Interview, select and train staff, and ensure associates have the tools and training they need.
• Ensure work is done consistently with company policies and procedures, and perform other duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Typically a BS/BA in a related discipline and generally 5+ years of experience in a related field; advanced degrees may offset less experience.
• Preferred: experience in credit, collections, accounts receivable, customer account management or a related finance function, and supervisory, coaching or training experience.
• Strong understanding of AR aging, collection practices, credit risk evaluation, payment follow-up, dispute resolution and account documentation.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, customer service and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Must reside in or near Waukegan, IL.

Required skills

• Proficiency with ERP systems, Excel and reporting tools used to manage credit and collection activity.
