Supervising Speech-Language Pathologist

About the role

Lead a team of Speech-Language Pathology Assistants (SLPAs) in a therapist‑owned pediatric clinic, focusing on clinical excellence and professional growth rather than maintaining a personal caseload.

Key responsibilities

• Provide direct and indirect supervision of SLPAs, ensuring compliance with ASHA and Washington State regulations.
• Oversee assessments, re‑evaluations, and progress report writing for the SLPA caseload.
• Conduct parent trainings and support sessions to promote family engagement.
• Perform initial evaluations, cover sessions as needed, and offer makeup visit availability.
• Collaborate with occupational/physical therapists and administrative leaders for multidisciplinary care.
• Mentor staff, model ICAN’s values, and foster a positive, growth‑oriented environment.
• Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant clinical documentation.
• Assist in operational and quality‑improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Speech‑Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
• Active Washington State SLP license and ASHA CCC‑SLP certification.
• Minimum two years of pediatric experience.
• Experience supervising SLPAs or clinical fellows.
• Strong communication, documentation, mentorship, and organizational abilities.
