About the role
The University of Miami seeks a temporary summer worker to serve as an instructor for the Hurricane Debate Institute camp in Coral Gables. You will teach debate and public‑speaking skills, lead daily activities, and deliver lectures under the direction of the program manager.
Key responsibilities
- Teach debate techniques and public‑speaking fundamentals to camp participants.
- Lead day‑to‑day camp activities and deliver scheduled lectures.
- Provide clerical, research, and technical support to the department as needed.
- Maintain compliance with university policies and keep supervising staff informed of progress.
- Assist in meeting program deadlines and objectives.
Required profile
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- At least one year of relevant experience.
- Ability to learn new procedures and adapt to changing priorities.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
Required skills
- Proficiency with office software (e.g., Microsoft Office).
