Summer Session Instructor in Fashion

About the role

ASU FIDM is seeking Summer Session Instructors to teach undergraduate fashion courses during the Summer 2026 semester. Instructors will deliver 1‑2 classes at our Downtown Phoenix campus, the ASU California Center in Los Angeles, or via online instruction.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and organize course materials, syllabi, and assignments.
• Deliver lectures, workshops, and studio sessions.
• Evaluate student work, assign grades, and provide constructive feedback.
• Maintain weekly office hours for on‑campus students and electronic support for online learners.

Required profile

• Associate’s degree with 4 years industry experience OR Bachelor’s degree with 2 years industry experience in fashion.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field.
• Minimum two years of post‑secondary teaching experience.
• Evidence of teaching excellence and professional development or scholarly publication.
• Ability to teach a range of fashion specializations (design, construction, patternmaking, accessories, textile design, styling, merchandising, high‑end, mass‑market, sustainable).

What we offer

• Summer‑only, part‑time appointment (1‑2 courses).
• Compensation of $1,500 per credit hour.
• No tenure or benefits; flexible teaching locations (on‑site or online).
