Summer Internship – Procurement Consultancy, Chicago

About the role

Proxima, a specialist procurement consultancy within Bain & Company's global ecosystem, is looking for aspiring consultants to join its Chicago team for an eight-week summer internship from June 7 to August 6, 2027. Interns work alongside experienced consultants on client projects, gaining practical consulting and procurement experience. The internship is based in Chicago, IL, and successful candidates are responsible for their own accommodation during the eight weeks.

Key responsibilities

• Take part in a structured training program covering procurement knowledge and consultancy skills
• Learn about the range of businesses Proxima works for and consult on procurement from field experts
• Shadow and assist client teams in identifying improvements and cost savings for global brands
• Work with other interns on a client simulation, then deliver recommendations to senior leaders at the end of the program
• Practice communication through weekly storytelling and presentation sessions with regular feedback

Required profile

• Rising senior at university
• Great problem-solving skills and a proactive, ownership-oriented approach
• Curious, adaptable and motivated to build a long-term consulting and procurement career
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
