Summer Camp Counselor – Frost Chopin Academy

About the role

We are seeking a temporary part‑time Camp Counselor for the Frost Chopin Academy & Festival summer session in Coral Gables, FL. The counselor will supervise the dormitory program, ensure camper safety, and support daily camp activities.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise dorm residents, maintain attendance records, and ensure campers are awake for scheduled activities.
• Escort under‑18 campers to breakfast and to the Frost School of Music for activities, and return them to the dorm after each day.
• Store and manage camper medical release forms in the university’s Box cloud service.
• Conduct daily room checks and enforce University Housing procedures.
• Assist with camper check‑in and check‑out, including key return and luggage handling.
• Be on‑call for overnight emergencies, coordinate with the Night Counselor, notify the Program Director, and contact emergency services when needed.
• Maintain communication with campers via Slack, WhatsApp, or other designated platforms.

Required profile

• Ability to work evenings and overnight on‑call shifts during the camp week.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail for record‑keeping.
• Comfort interacting with minors and handling emergency situations.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Box cloud service for document storage.
• Experience using communication tools such as Slack, WhatsApp, and Zoom.
