Remote Mathematics Expert (PhD)

About the role

Work on projects that improve and evaluate large language models by applying advanced mathematical reasoning, problem‑solving, computational thinking, and clear written communication. The role combines designing challenging math problems, writing Python solutions, and using theorem‑prover tools.

Key responsibilities

• Design original, multi‑step and proof‑based mathematics problems to test LLM reasoning limits.
• Solve problems independently and produce detailed, logically structured solutions with clear justifications.
• Review model‑generated answers, identify errors or missing arguments, and provide precise feedback and annotations.
• Develop and validate Python‑based solutions for computational tasks using approved scientific libraries.
• Work on theorem‑prover tasks using Lean, translating problems and proofs into formal language and verifying compilation.

Required profile

• Graduate or PhD‑level background in Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field.
• Strong analytical and research skills with the ability to break down complex concepts into simple explanations.
• Self‑motivated, able to work independently in a fully remote environment.

Required skills
