Summer 2027 Mechanical Engineering Internship

About the role

Stryker is offering a Summer 2027 Mechanical Engineering internship in Tempe, Arizona, with onsite work. Interns apply classroom knowledge in a fast-paced industry, implement new ideas, network with leaders and join an innovative team. The internship targets Mechanical Engineering or related majors.

Key responsibilities

• Research and development: identify needs and goals of future products, research new technologies, customer expectations, business requirements and regulations, and use CAD, FEA and test labs to develop new product concepts.
• Product engineering: improve current products by researching new technologies, customer feedback and product performance data, using CAD, FEA, test labs and root cause analysis to improve safety and efficacy.
• Test lab: partner with Test Engineers and R&D to test early prototypes, build fixtures to simulate real-life situations and perform design verification testing.

Required profile

• Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in a related field, remaining enrolled after the internship.
• Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above, verified at hire.
• Legally authorized to work in the U.S. and does not need sponsorship.
• Strong written and verbal communication, leadership, problem-solving and organizational skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Eagerness to learn in a dynamic environment.

• $20 minimum to $35 maximum hourly wage.
