About the role

Michelin is offering a Summer 2027 internship in Spartanburg, South Carolina, focused on reducing defect rates in tire production. The internship sits within the tire manufacturing process and is located near the greater Greenville, SC area. It suits students who want hands-on experience in an industrial plant environment.

Key responsibilities

• Familiarize yourself with the tire manufacturing process.
• Analyze the correlation between tire defects and upstream variables.
• Develop, evaluate and propose solutions based on cost, effectiveness and reliability.
• Facilitate the implementation of the solutions and validate the gains achieved.

Required profile

• Major in Chemical, Mechanical, Industrial, Computer, Electrical, Environmental Engineering, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Physics, Hard Sciences and/or Materials.
• Currently enrolled full time at an accredited four-year college or university.
• Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.
• US citizen, permanent resident or otherwise authorized to work for Michelin on an ongoing, indefinite basis; the position is not available for immigration sponsorship.
• Willingness to work Monday to Friday on day shift in an industrial plant setting.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
