Summer 2027 Internship: Mechanical Engineer

About the role

Michelin is offering a Summer 2027 internship for a Mechanical Engineer at its Emporia, Kansas site. The internship is part of a broader program covering Chemical, Mechanical, Industrial, Computer and Electrical Engineering. It takes place in an industrial plant environment, Monday to Friday on day shift.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out feasibility studies on challenged and validated concepts, evaluating possible solutions against cost, deadlines, risks and functional criteria
• Conduct integration studies in cooperation with other businesses
• Manage change requests according to the DE / Release process
• Implement the quality system and methods of the group, including risk analysis, FMEA, design reviews, quality planning, DTE and treatment of non-conformances
• Obtain validations (CI, RF, RC) after the phases of realization, installation, start-up and development of equipment made in collaboration with industry partners
• Support prototype projects managed by process development teams and keep "as built" folders up to date

Required profile

• Major in Chemical, Mechanical, Industrial, Computer, Electrical, Environmental Engineering or Computer Science
• Currently enrolled full time at an accredited four-year college or university
• Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0
• US citizen, permanent resident or otherwise authorized to work for Michelin on an ongoing, indefinite basis; the position is not available for immigration sponsorship
• Willingness to work in an industrial plant environment, Monday to Friday on day shift
