Substitute ESOL Teacher – Remote or Hybrid

About the role

The YMCA International Learning Center (ILC) in Woburn seeks substitute teachers to deliver remote or hybrid ESOL classes for adult learners from September 2024 to June 2025. You will teach beginner to advanced levels, supporting language development and employment skills.

Key responsibilities

• Substitute for morning or evening General English classes, delivering lesson plans aligned with Massachusetts ELPS standards.
• Develop and deliver engaging, contextualized lessons using Google Classroom, Zoom, and digital resources.
• Maintain accurate attendance records and document weekly lesson plans in Google Drive.
• Collaborate with Education and Career Advisors to track student progress toward personal, educational, and career goals.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree (education background preferred).
• TESOL/TEFL/TESL certification preferred.
• Eligibility to live and work in the United States.
• Sensitivity to socio‑economic and ethnic minority issues.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Proficiency with Google Suite (Docs, Drive, Classroom).
• Experience using Zoom for remote instruction.
• Comfort with web‑based file storage such as SharePoint.
