Subject Matter Expert – Legal (AI Evaluation Contractor)

About the role

Turing is looking for an experienced legal professional to serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) focused on evaluating and improving AI‑driven legal workflows. You will create realistic legal scenarios, assess AI outputs, and help refine model accuracy for research, contracts, litigation, and operations.

Key responsibilities

• Create synthetic case and contract scenarios and corresponding workflow prompts.
• Evaluate AI‑generated legal reasoning, citations, and workflow outputs.
• Identify edge cases such as missed deadlines, hallucinated citations, contract conflicts, and billing errors.
• Develop evaluation rubrics and expert reasoning traces to guide model improvements.

Required profile

• 4–9+ years of experience in legal research, litigation, contracts, legal operations, or related legal systems.
• Strong familiarity with LexisNexis, Litify, DocuSign, and/or NetDocuments.
• Excellent legal writing and analytical abilities.
• Experience with AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude) is preferred.
