About the role

The Study Build Programmer Internship at Lilly offers hands‑on experience with clinical data capture systems and enterprise‑level data pipelines. Interns work on real projects alongside Clinical Data Sciences professionals and senior management, culminating in a presentation of their findings.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and test electronic data capture systems, ensuring validation and reliability.
• Design, program, and automate clinical database solutions, including data standardization and normalization.
• Collaborate with the Data and Analytics business unit to align data collection with trial objectives.

Required profile

• Currently enrolled in a Master’s program (Computer Science, Data Science, Bioinformatics, Informatics, or Life Sciences) with expected graduation Dec 2027 – May 2028.
• Authorized to work in the United States on a full‑time basis without sponsorship.
• Demonstrated ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem‑solving environment.

Required skills

• Proficiency in R, Python, or SQL programming.
• Understanding of database architecture and data flow across systems.
• Experience with AI tools such as generative AI platforms or automation tools.
