Student Technician – Plant & Insect Care

About the role
The Non-Affiliated Student Technician supports research by caring for plant stock and insect colonies used in experiments. This on‑site student worker role is based in Dallas, Texas, and offers hands‑on experience in an agricultural research environment.
Key responsibilities
- Water plants as needed to maintain healthy growth.
- Sow and transplant vegetable plants used in experimental studies.
- Assist with the maintenance of whitefly, thrips, aphid, ladybug, and big‑eyed bug colonies.
- Perform other duties assigned by supervisors, including general lab and field tasks.
Required profile
- High school diploma or equivalent; combination of education and experience acceptable.
- Ability to multi‑task and work cooperatively with others.
- Detail‑oriented and capable of following precise protocols.
- Willingness to work outdoors in hot, humid, and occasionally adverse weather conditions.
