Student Technician – Breeding Research (Dallas, TX)

About the role
This position supports the Breeding for Controlled Environments research team at Texas A&M Agrilife Research. As a student technician you will gain hands‑on experience in plant breeding operations and laboratory sample handling while contributing to ongoing experiments.
Key responsibilities
- Assist with sampling and processing of specimens for laboratory analysis.
- Perform seed sowing, extraction, crossing, and plant harvest activities.
- Collect and record experimental research data.
- Support daily research program tasks and other duties as assigned.
Required profile
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to undergo a criminal history investigation and credential verification.
- Commitment to security‑sensitive laboratory environments.
Required skills
- Laboratory sample processing.
- Plant breeding techniques (seed sowing, crossing, harvest).
- Research data collection and documentation.
