Student Finance Systems Programmer/Developer

About the role

The Student Finance Systems Programmer/Developer will deliver system, reporting and analytics solutions to support accurate and timely student finance operations. This hybrid role works closely with business and technology teams to translate requirements into scalable applications.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the primary IT liaison for business units, developing requirements and specifications for system enhancements.
• Participate in project teams to define, acquire, and implement new software applications, including user documentation and UAT support.
• Review technology initiatives, ensure alignment with strategic plans, and assist in ROI documentation.
• Collaborate with external vendors and internal users throughout the SDLC, managing risks and competing deliverables.
• Support data and reporting initiatives, maintaining consistent data standards across units.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 2+ years of IT/software development experience, preferably in higher education.
• Experience with business analysis and translating requirements into technical solutions.

Required skills

• SQL writing and coding, experience with SQL Server databases.
• Strong .NET desktop development (WinForms, WPF) using C# and VB.NET.
• Familiarity with GCP usage.
• Experience with CRM tools such as Salesforce.com or RightNow.
• Knowledge of SDLC processes.
