IT Help Desk Intern

About the role

This internship supports the Office of Information Technology by maintaining classroom and lab technologies and providing user assistance.

Key responsibilities

• Assist users with account, computer, and telephone issues via email, phone, chat/remote desktop, and in person.
• Troubleshoot PCs, Apple systems, and various software applications.
• Verify weekly that all KIOSKs and digital signage function correctly.
• Maintain documentation in the ticketing management system and decommission non‑functional equipment.
• Participate in special projects such as mounting network equipment and preparing computers with updated software images.
• Manage Agiloft maintenance reports daily and assist with A/V equipment requests.

Required profile

• Current TAMIU student majoring in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business, or related field.
• Enrolled at least half‑time (6 credit hours undergraduate, 3 graduate) with a minimum GPA of 2.0 (undergrad) or 3.0 (grad).
• Must meet TAMIU’s Satisfactory Academic Progress Policy.
• Ability to work on‑campus, maintain a regular schedule, and complete required trainings.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Outlook, Word, and Excel.
• Experience troubleshooting PC and Apple hardware and software.
• Familiarity with ticketing management systems and Agiloft.
