Student Account Representative

About the role

The Student Account Representative serves as the primary contact for students, parents, faculty, staff, and other parties regarding all activities related to student accounts. This role provides high‑level customer service through in‑person, phone, and electronic communications.

Key responsibilities

• Explain line‑item and summary of student account credits/debits and billing procedures to students and parents via appointments, email, written correspondence, and telephone.
• Assist over 150,000 contacts while ensuring compliance with federal, state, and institutional regulations.
• Counsel and advise on account policies, payment processing, and financing options; resolve conflicts with Financial Aid, Registrar, Housing, and Academic Departments.
• Represent Student Accounts at open houses, orientations, workshops, recruitment, and advising programs.
• Process student account payments from students, scholarship organizations, or 529 savings plans.

Required profile

• Customer service experience with strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• High School Diploma required; Associate’s Degree preferred.
• One year of experience in a higher‑education student accounts/bursar office or related field desired.

Required skills

• Working knowledge of Microsoft Word.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with Banner system preferred.
