Structures Engineer – Hypersonic Air Vehicles

About the role

The Structures Engineer will apply first‑principle methods and advanced design tools to create new hypersonic aircraft components. You will own the development of primary and secondary structural parts from concept through prototype manufacturing, working closely with multidisciplinary teams.

Key responsibilities

• Develop metallic and composite structural parts and assemblies from preliminary design to prototype.
• Perform detailed finite‑element modeling and analysis, including strength, buckling, damage tolerance, and delamination.
• Apply design‑for‑manufacturing concepts to produce cost‑effective, high‑rate solutions.
• Conduct trade studies and research to optimize weight, performance, cost, and schedule.
• Coordinate with mechanical systems, aerodynamics, manufacturing, and project engineering.
• Provide onsite engineering support at manufacturing and integration sites.

Required profile

• B.S. in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent experience).
• 5+ years of aerospace or related industry experience.
• Strong knowledge of composite material mechanics, load paths, and hand calculations.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a US DoD Secret Clearance or higher.
