Structures Engineer – Hypersonic Air Vehicles

About the role

The Structures Engineer will develop primary and secondary aircraft structural parts for hypersonic air vehicles, guiding designs from concept through prototype manufacturing. The role involves close collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to deliver cost‑effective, high‑performance structures.

Key responsibilities

• Develop metallic and composite structural components using first‑principle methods and advanced design tools.
• Perform detailed finite element modeling and analysis, including strength, buckling, damage tolerance, and delamination.
• Conduct trade studies to optimize weight, performance, manufacturability, cost, and schedule.
• Coordinate with mechanical systems, aerodynamics, manufacturing, and project engineering teams.
• Provide onsite engineering support at manufacturing and integration sites.

Required profile

• B.S. in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent experience) with 5+ years in aerospace or related industry.
• Strong knowledge of composite material mechanics, load paths, and structural design practices.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a US DoD Secret Clearance or higher.
• Self‑directed, results‑oriented, with excellent time‑management and communication skills.
