Strategic Investment Manager - Gaming

About the role

Tencent Games, a global platform for game development, operations and publishing with over 140 games and more than 800 million users, is hiring a Strategic Investment Manager. The role works directly with senior management across global and domestic games markets, leads business development projects independently, evaluates investment and BD opportunities and drives the development and incubation of new businesses.

Key responsibilities

• Evaluate global gaming investment and business development opportunities and make key investment decisions.
• Lead business development projects independently and incubate new businesses.
• Support executives and business group leaders in their decision-making and provide strategy and out-of-the-box thinking.
• Plan and manage business incubation, drive product innovation and new partnerships, and develop and execute go-to-market plans.
• Monitor the domestic and global game market and identify emerging industry and technology trends.

Required profile

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in strategy consulting, investment banking, PE/VC and related internet industries.
• Strategic vision, business insight and in-depth knowledge of the gaming, media and entertainment industry and related markets (a gamer is preferred).
• Ability to interpret data, spot emerging trends and opportunities, and an entrepreneurial spirit.
• Self-starter comfortable with uncertainty, able to collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Required skills

• Exceptional proficiency with MS Excel and PowerPoint.
• Working knowledge of statistics and analysis packages.

What we offer

• Base pay of $84,200 to $253,400 per year, depending on location and experience.
