Store Manager - O'Reilly Auto Parts

About the role

O'Reilly Auto Parts is looking for a Store Manager for its Montgomery, Alabama store. The manager is responsible for sales, profitability, appearance and overall operations of the store, with the goal of consistent sales growth, a profitable operation and adherence to company policies.

Key responsibilities

• Maximize sales by directing team members to give customers prompt, courteous and professional service, and represent the company in line with its policies.
• Maintain the customer base, increase sales at assigned accounts, review customer needs and gain market share, including stocking-type business and daily needs and equipment sales.
• Coordinate sales calls with the Territory Sales Manager and supervise all store team members, working with the District Manager on hiring, evaluation, promotion, discipline and discharge.
• Develop and post work schedules based on sales and payroll forecasts, review timecards for accuracy and correct missed punches daily.
• Ensure continuous improvement through company training on policies, customer service, computer operations, catalogs, sales and safety.
• Work with the Sales and Pricing Departments to set pricing levels for professional customers, maximize gross profit on outside purchases and monitor price overrides and price matches to prevent discounting abuse.
• Keep the store organized, communicate new company information to team members, implement planogram and merchandising changes, and provide accurate stock adjustment recaps to Inventory Control.
• Handle daily accounting functions such as sales reports, bank deposits, cash drawers and checks, and monitor charge accounts and past-due situations.
• Implement loss prevention procedures across billing, cash refunds, credit, stock transfers, warranties, keys and shoplifting prevention, and keep store vehicles clean and maintained.
• Report property and building needs through the Maintenance and Repair System or to the District Manager, attend the Annual Managers' Conference and perform other duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Sales Specialist Training, Assistant Manager Certification and Manager Development Program module.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, well organized and able to prioritize and manage time efficiently.
• Knowledge of automotive parts, equipment and systems.
• Fluency in multiple languages (Spanish highly desired).

Required skills

• Certified Parts Professional Certification and ASE certification (desired)
• Timekeeping and scheduling
