About the role
Our client is launching its first flagship store in SoHo, New York, and seeks an experienced Store Manager to lead the opening and drive ongoing success. This full‑time, on‑site position combines sales leadership, daily operations, team development, loss‑prevention, and a highly personalized luxury client experience across jewelry, fragrance, and apparel.
Key responsibilities
- Lead the complete store opening process, coordinating with leadership, vendors, and internal teams on operations, security, technology, visual presentation, and back‑of‑house setup.
- Define the operating model, including hours, staffing coverage, service approach, and first‑year budget.
- Recruit, onboard, schedule, and develop the founding team of keyholders and sales associates.
- Set and maintain a luxury service culture through coaching, product‑knowledge training, and client‑experience standards.
- Drive store performance toward a $5 M first‑year revenue target while contributing roughly $1 M in personal sales.
- Develop and execute a clienteling strategy, managing appointments, follow‑ups, special orders, and private sales.
- Oversee daily operations: opening/closing, cash handling, deposits, shipments, repairs, and documentation.
- Maintain inventory accuracy, enforce loss‑prevention protocols, and manage controllable expenses.
- Plan and execute events, private appointments, previews, and local partnership activities to attract qualified traffic.
- Track and report key metrics such as traffic, conversion, average transaction value, and client growth.
Required profile
- Several years of Store Manager experience in luxury retail sales.
- Proven experience in fine or high‑end jewelry retail.
- Demonstrated ability to build and lead a high‑performing team in an entrepreneurial environment.
