Store Manager

About the role

Hot Topic is looking for a Store Manager in Annapolis to lead the store and drive its results. The manager sets the store's direction, leads a collaborative team, and delivers strong customer service in the mall. The role covers sales targets, recruiting, development, performance management, merchandising and loss prevention.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure the store meets its sales plan and/or comparable sales goals
• Recruit, develop and retain a collaborative team
• Create buzz and customer engagement through social media, store web applications and clienteling
• Run an operationally sound business with clear structure, delegation and autonomy
• Watch shrink, loss prevention, payroll hours, schedules and other factors affecting the business
• Communicate with retail leadership and HQ on trends and customer feedback
• Run sales reports and use data to guide strategy
• Control supply ownership and spend, and adapt to new technologies
• Merchandise the store using planograms and launch promos on time
• Mentor staff through recognition and feedback

Required profile

• At least 1-2 years of retail store management experience
• High school diploma or GED equivalent; a degree is an advantage
• Open-minded and curious about pop culture fandoms and music trends
• Able to move around the store, merchandise products with approved equipment and pack and unpack boxes weighing up to 50 pounds
