Store Manager

About the role

Hot Topic is looking for a Store Manager for its location at Grand Traverse Mall in Traverse City. The manager leads the store in meeting sales targets, recruiting, developing people and managing performance, while delivering great customer service and a fun, music-and-pop-culture-focused shopping experience.

Key responsibilities

• Help the store achieve its sales plan and comparable sales goals
• Recruit, develop and retain a collaborative team
• Run an operationally sound business with clear structure, delegation and autonomy
• Watch shrink, loss prevention, payroll hours and schedules
• Create a shopping experience that encourages customers to return
• Share music knowledge with employees and customers
• Work with retail leadership and HQ on trends and customer feedback
• Run sales reports and use data to guide strategy
• Merchandise the store using planograms and launch promos on time
• Build a bench of talented staff

Required profile

• At least one year of retail store management experience
• High school diploma or GED equivalent; a degree is an advantage
• Passion for music, fashion and pop culture
• Open to teen culture and music trends
• Able to adapt quickly to change
