About the role

Meijer is seeking a Store Director for its Kalamazoo market to lead all aspects of store operations, deliver an exceptional shopping experience, and drive financial performance. This senior retail position reports to regional leadership and is responsible for a high‑volume, multi‑department store.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily retail operations, ensuring compliance with merchandising, safety, and regulatory standards.
• Analyze financial data and manage a budget supporting $40 million+ in annual sales.
• Recruit, train, and develop a diverse team of associates and leaders.
• Maintain optimal staffing levels and schedule flexibility to meet customer demand.
• Foster strong community relationships to enhance the Meijer brand.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent retail experience.
• Minimum 5 years of retail or service industry experience.
• At least 3 years of leadership experience, including managing leaders with direct reports.
• Experience in general merchandise and grocery/fresh departments preferred.
• Proven ability to lead a store with $40 million+ annual revenue.
