Stock Clerk

About the role

Amentum is hiring a Stock Clerk to receive, store and issue equipment, materials, supplies, merchandise, foodstuffs and tools, and to keep stock records in the stockroom, warehouse or storage yard. The work is done in a shop environment where the employee is regularly exposed to disagreeable fumes.

Key responsibilities

• Receive, store and issue equipment, materials, supplies, merchandise and tools, and compile stock records.
• Count, sort or weigh incoming articles to verify receipt against requisitions or invoices, and check stock against specifications.
• Store items in bins, on the floor or on shelves by style, size or type, and fill orders or issue supplies.
• Prepare periodic, special or perpetual inventory.
• Requisition articles to fill incoming orders.
• Record use of stock-handling equipment, inventory count adjustments, spoiled or damaged stock, location changes and refused shipments.
• May mark identifying codes on articles, distribute stock to production workers, adjust or repair items in stock, and cut stock to size.
• Determine storage methods and locations, considering temperature, humidity, weight limits, turnover and floor loading capacity.

Required profile

• High school graduate or equivalent is desirable.
• At least six months of recent experience in general material and supply functions, in the military or in commercial settings.
• Knowledge of material and supply procedures as required by the contract and/or delivery order.
• Ability to obtain and maintain facility credentials; US citizenship is required for this work location.
• Position may require passing and maintaining a security clearance and may involve travel.

Physical demands

• Regularly stands, walks, reaches, stoops, kneels, crouches or crawls.
• Frequently lifts 15-25 pounds and occasionally more than 45 pounds.
