Stewarding Supervisor (Full Time)

About the role

Loews Ventana Canyon Resort in Tucson's Catalina Foothills is looking for a hands-on, detail-oriented Stewarding Supervisor to lead the stewarding team and keep the back-of-house areas clean, organized and safe. The role oversees dishwashing operations, manages equipment and supply inventories and ensures compliance with sanitation and safety regulations, supporting the culinary and food and beverage teams.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and supervise the stewarding team, assign tasks and cover responsibilities throughout each shift
• Monitor team performance and provide hands-on training, coaching and feedback
• Oversee the cleaning and sanitation of dishes, glassware, flatware, pots and kitchen equipment
• Keep dishwashing machines and cleaning equipment running efficiently and report malfunctions for repair
• Coordinate cleaning of kitchen areas, storage spaces and back-of-house areas
• Enforce safety procedures and hygiene protocols, and monitor compliance with health department regulations on food safety and sanitation
• Assist with inventory of cleaning supplies, chemicals and equipment, and oversee safe storage of chemicals
• Work with banquet, culinary and outlet teams to ensure equipment is ready for events, support event setup and breakdown, and manage equipment return and storage
• Foster teamwork and step in to manage day-to-day floor operations when the Executive Steward or Assistant Executive Steward is absent
• Attend BEO meetings as needed, attend mandatory training and meetings, and follow regular attendance standards

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent, preferred
• Minimum 2-3 years of experience in a mid-volume stewarding operation in an upscale hotel or restaurant, preferred
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage time efficiently
• Time management, multitasking and prioritization skills
• Physical ability to lift heavy items, stand for long periods and operate cleaning equipment
