Steward (On Call)

About the role

Loews Ventana Canyon Resort, a luxury property in Tucson's Catalina Foothills, is looking for a dependable, detail-oriented Steward (on call) to keep its kitchen and back-of-house areas clean and organized. You will ensure dishes, glassware, silverware and kitchen equipment are properly cleaned, sanitized and ready for service, working closely with culinary, banquet and outlet teams.

Key responsibilities

• Wash and sanitize dishes, cookware, utensils and glassware, and operate dishwashing machines and do manual cleaning when needed.
• Organize and store cleaned items in their designated areas.
• Keep floors, walls, counters and equipment spotless and safe.
• Organize equipment and supplies for culinary, banquet and outlet teams and deliver clean plates and utensils promptly.
• Collect and dispose of trash, recycling and food waste, and sanitize trash bins.
• Monitor cleaning supply inventory and restock as needed.
• Report broken equipment to the Executive Steward or Stewarding Supervisor, use cleaning chemicals safely and follow health and sanitation guidelines.
• Attend safety training, team meetings and mandatory training, and work varying schedules including nights, weekends and holidays.

Required profile

• Previous experience in kitchen, cleaning or hospitality work is preferred.
• Ability to lift heavy items, stand for long periods and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Flexibility to work varying shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays.
• Veterans and military spouses encouraged to apply.
