Steward – Culinary Department at Homewood Mountain & Lake Club

About the role

The Steward supports the Culinary Department at Homewood Mountain & Lake Club, ensuring kitchens and back‑of‑house areas remain clean, safe and ready for service. This role contributes to the overall Discovery Land Company experience for members and staff.

Key responsibilities

• Keep all food preparation areas meticulously clean and tidy.
• Maintain safe and sanitary conditions for all food service equipment.
• Demonstrate full COSHH knowledge and follow safety measures when using cleaning materials.
• Ensure kitchens are cleaned before and after each operation, including swift garbage removal.
• Assist with inventory control of catering equipment and plateware.
• Manage linen usage, removing soiled items for laundry and restocking fresh inventory.
• Support culinary staff with side work, cleaning and organizing as needed.
• Communicate with supervisors throughout the shift to ensure task completion.

Required profile

• Prior culinary experience preferred; culinary degree or certifications are a plus.
• Understanding of federal, state and local food safety and sanitation regulations.
• Flexibility to pivot to new projects and work in a fast‑paced environment.
• Positive attitude, professional demeanor and strong interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work evenings, weekends and holidays; physical ability to stand, walk and lift items over 50 lb.
