Sterile Processing Technician – Night Shift (9 PM–5:30 AM)

About the role

Phelps Health is seeking a full‑time Sterile Processing Technician to work the night shift (9 PM–5:30 AM). The technician will ensure that surgical instruments and equipment are properly decontaminated, sterilized, and ready for patient care.

Key responsibilities

• Perform decontamination and sterilization of instruments according to manufacturer specifications.
• Sort, clean, and inspect case carts and instrument packages for integrity.
• Document sterilizer loads, test results, and maintain accurate labeling.
• Assemble and test instruments for optimal functioning and report any defects.
• Maintain daily inventory of equipment and supplies.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in sterile processing preferred.
• Certification as a Sterile Processing Technician to be obtained within one year of hire.
• Ability to stand, walk, lift up to 35 lb and work in humid or confined environments.

• Use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
