Sterile Processing Supervisor

About the role

The Sterile Processing Supervisor leads the sterile processing department, ensuring that inventory, equipment, and staff are aligned to meet patient care demands. This position balances operational efficiency with cost‑effectiveness while supporting a compassionate, inclusive healthcare team.

Key responsibilities

• Direct daily operations of the sterile processing department, supervising staff and coordinating with pre‑operative services.
• Manage inventory, instrumentation, and equipment distribution to maintain appropriate supply levels for the operating rooms.
• Oversee productivity, quality performance, and cost‑benefit analysis for the sterile processing team.
• Train, develop, and motivate employees to achieve functional objectives.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, local regulations and accreditation standards.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent; preferred graduation from a surgical technology program or a bachelor’s degree in surgical technology.
• Minimum 3 years of experience leading teams; preferred 2 years in sterile processing and experience as a scrub or surgical tech.
• Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST), Certified Sterile Processing Department Technician (CSPDT), or Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) preferred.
