State Tested Nursing Assistant – Night Shift Hospice

About the role

The State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA) provides compassionate care to hospice patients and their families during night shifts at Justin Rogers Hospice Care Center. You will work alongside physicians, nurses, and other staff to ensure comfort and support for patients at the end of life.

Key responsibilities

• Perform basic patient care activities, including personal hygiene, activities of daily living, and transfers.
• Assist with physician‑ordered procedures under supervision of RN, PT, OT, or ST.
• Document and report abnormal assessments or changes in physical, mental, and emotional conditions.
• Maintain a clean and orderly patient environment and keep accurate care documentation.

Required profile

• High School Diploma or GED.
• State Tested Nurse Aide (STNA) certification registered with the Ohio Nurse’s Aide Registry.
• At least one year of clinical experience in an acute, rehab, or skilled nursing setting.
• Valid Ohio driver’s license with required automobile insurance coverage.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (to be obtained during orientation if not already held).

Required skills

• State Tested Nurse Aide certification.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting, climbing stairs, and moving patients.
