State Tested Nursing Assistant, Hospice - PRN Flex

About the role

Join the Cleveland Clinic Justin T. Rogers Hospice Care Center in Akron as a State Tested Nursing Assistant on a PRN, flexible schedule. You will support patients and families at the end of life, providing physical, emotional and spiritual care in a hospice environment.

Key responsibilities

• Perform basic patient care activities.
• Assist with procedures ordered by a physician, under supervision of an RN, PT, OT or ST as appropriate.
• Help patients with personal care, activities of daily living and transfers/transport.
• Report and document abnormal assessment findings or changes in physical, mental and emotional conditions to nursing staff.
• Maintain a clean and orderly patient environment.
• Keep complete and up‑to‑date documentation regarding patient condition and care interventions.
• Escalate changes in patient condition to the patient’s physician as appropriate.

Required profile

• High School Diploma or GED.
• State Tested Nurse Aide (STNA) Certification with the Ohio Nurse’s Aide Registry.
• Valid Ohio Driver’s License and proof of $100,000/$300,000 automobile insurance coverage.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross (within orientation period).
• Preferred: Hospice and Palliative Care Nurse Assistant (CHPNA) Certification.
• Preferred: Home care experience.
