Staff Software Engineer – Healthcare Marketplace (Remote)

About the role

Rula is building a scalable marketplace to improve access to mental healthcare. As a Staff Software Engineer you will design and deliver backend systems that increase marketplace efficiency, provider utilization, and patient access at scale.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with Engineering, Product, Data, and Operations to design scalable distributed systems.
• Drive technical strategy, mentor engineers, and influence decisions across the Marketplace organization.
• Own end‑to‑end delivery of backend services, APIs, and data‑intensive components.

Required profile

• 8+ years of experience building scalable distributed systems.
• Proven ability to lead technical initiatives across multiple teams without direct authority.
• Strong communication skills to align technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
• Experience delivering measurable impact on marketplace or platform problems.
