Staff Software Engineer, Enterprise Data Warehouse (Remote)

About the role

The Staff Data Engineer is a senior technical leader who designs, builds and operates enterprise-scale data platforms and data products within the Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW), covering foundational data domains, semantic layers and downstream analytics consumers. The role helps define architectural standards, drives platform modernization and mentors other engineers while staying hands-on in complex backend data engineering work. It is fully remote, with no travel required.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, test, deploy and maintain software, with a focus on scalability, performance, cost efficiency and analytical correctness
• Build functional and destructive test suites to support rapid deployment of code to production
• Work with the Product Team so that user stories are developer-ready, easy to understand and testable
• Collaborate with colleagues in agile processes and communicate clearly with different audiences
• Answer questions from product and engineering teams and guide junior engineers on modern software development frameworks
• Identify team gaps and suggest improvements to make the team more productive

Required profile

• Age 18 or older and legally permitted to work in the United States
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a field related to the job
• 5+ years of experience in backend data engineering or analytics platform engineering (preferred)
• Experience designing enterprise-grade data models, including curated/ADS datasets
• Experience building and supporting semantic layers (AtScale preferred, not required)
• Experience with CI/CD and orchestration frameworks such as Jenkins and Airflow
• Understanding of performance tuning, cost optimization, high availability, resilience and scalability

Required skills

• Cloud data warehouses (BigQuery strongly preferred)
• Advanced SQL and strong Python
• CI/CD and orchestration tools such as Jenkins and Airflow

Pay range for California, Colorado, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Nevada, New York City, Ithaca (NY), Westchester County (NY) and Washington residents: $120,000 - $190,000.
