Staff Product Manager – Agent & Systems Observability

About the role

Render is looking for a Staff Product Manager to own the vision and roadmap for observability across its platform, focusing on both system telemetry and emerging AI‑agent workloads. You will shape how developers debug, monitor, and manage cost for AI‑native applications.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute the strategy for logs, metrics, distributed tracing, and OpenTelemetry‑native instrumentation.
• Prioritize observability investments, balancing core telemetry infrastructure with short‑term product needs.
• Partner with engineering and product teams to design a high‑performance telemetry pipeline that scales cost‑effectively.
• Develop a point‑of‑view on AI‑native observability, including token economics and model routing.

Required profile

• 7+ years of product management experience, preferably in observability, monitoring, developer tools, or infrastructure.
• Deep empathy for developers and the ability to make architectural trade‑offs with engineering.
• Proven track record turning ambiguous, cross‑cutting problems into clear strategy and shipped outcomes.
• Strong communication and storytelling skills.

Required skills

• Hands‑on experience with the OpenTelemetry ecosystem (signals, semantic conventions, collectors).
• Understanding of AI workload economics – token pricing, model selection, and cost attribution.
• Familiarity with logs, metrics, distributed tracing, and observability pipelines.
