Staff Physician – Family Medicine & Community Health

About the role

The University of Miami Medical Group (UMMG) is seeking a Staff Physician to join its Family Medicine and Community Health clinic in Kendall, FL. This position focuses on delivering high‑quality primary care to a diverse patient population.

Key responsibilities

• Provide direct clinical care in five clinic sessions per week, including history taking, physical examinations, diagnosis, and treatment planning.
• Order and interpret laboratory tests, arrange referrals, and manage patient follow‑up.
• Supervise and direct medical assistants and other clinical staff.
• Collect and process biological specimens for laboratory testing.
• Maintain accurate and timely medical records in accordance with clinic policies.
• Participate in the development of clinic protocols, formularies, and quality improvement initiatives.
• Contribute to the education of medical students and family medicine residents.

Required profile

• Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) with active Florida medical license.
• Board certification or eligibility in Family Medicine.
• Experience providing primary care to multicultural populations.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
