Staff Nurse I/II – Day Shift

About the role

The Staff Nurse I/II provides direct patient care on the day shift at Montefiore Medical Center in the Bronx. The RN upholds professional nursing standards, contributes to performance improvement initiatives, and leads the interdisciplinary care team to ensure high‑quality outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and deliver patient care, ensuring 100% of assigned patients have a documented plan of care.
• Delegate appropriate tasks to team members and monitor completion according to standards of practice.
• Assume charge nurse duties, including oversight of patient assignments and unit flow.
• Complete admission assessments within 8 hours and document interdisciplinary interventions promptly.
• Develop and implement teaching and discharge plans for all patients within 24 hours of admission.
• Mentor and precept new associates, fostering professional development.
• Maintain compliance with LOS parameters and performance metrics.

Required profile

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• Ability to lead and coordinate interdisciplinary teams.
