Staff Nurse I/II – Occupational Health Services

About the role

The Staff Nurse I/II in Occupational Health Services provides comprehensive clinical care, health screening, and regulatory support to Montefiore associates, students, and affiliates. Working in a high‑volume, fast‑paced environment, you will help maintain a safe workplace for thousands of healthcare professionals.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct post‑offer pre‑placement evaluations, annual assessments, and periodic medical surveillance in line with regulatory requirements.
• Support return‑to‑work and fitness‑for‑duty processes, including documentation and coordination with providers.
• Perform respirator fit testing and vision (including color vision) screening to meet OSHA standards.
• Administer immunizations and medications, ensuring proper documentation, patient education, and post‑administration monitoring.
• Triage and manage work‑related injuries and blood/body fluid exposures, providing timely evaluation and follow‑up.
• Respond to urgent employee health concerns and escalate when necessary.
• Maintain accurate, compliant documentation in EPIC and Cority systems.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse licensure with strong clinical judgment.
• Knowledge of OSHA, CDC, and state health regulations.
• Ability to handle sensitive employee health information confidentially.
• Excellent communication and coordination skills with providers and leadership.

Required skills

• Proficiency with EPIC electronic health record system.
• Experience using Cority occupational health software.
• Competence in respirator fit testing procedures.
• Ability to conduct vision and color‑vision screening.
• Skilled in immunization administration and documentation.
