Staff Nurse – 9W Med/Surg – Full Time Days

About the role

The Staff Nurse will provide comprehensive care to patients on the 9W Medical/Surgical unit, working day shifts from 7:00 am to 7:30 pm. The role involves assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct nursing assessments through interviews, examinations, observations, and record reviews.
• Document patient progress, update care plans, and ensure accurate progress notes.
• Coordinate discharge planning and communicate effectively with patients, families, and inter‑departmental teams.
• Serve as a preceptor and mentor for new staff, students, and volunteers.
• Prioritize patient assignments based on needs and staff skill levels.
• Communicate patient conditions to leadership and participate in staff development activities.

Required profile

• Graduation from an accredited nursing program.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) or Associate’s Degree in Nursing (ADN).
• RN currently enrolled in a BSN program with expected graduation within the year, or an ADN RN with approved experience.
• Documented experience or educational preparation supporting nursing credentials.
