Staff Attorney – Family Law

About the role

The Family Law Staff Attorney works primarily in El Paso and Teller counties from the Colorado Springs office, providing legal advice, brief services, and representation to low‑income clients, including survivors of domestic abuse.

Key responsibilities

• Independently manage a caseload of domestic relations matters such as civil protection orders, divorces, and parental responsibility allocations.
• Conduct litigation tasks including client and witness interviews, case investigations, legal research, and drafting pleadings.
• Collaborate with CLS attorneys, paralegals, and intake specialists and travel to neighboring counties as needed.
• Engage in community outreach, education events, and serve on local boards or committees.

Required profile

• Valid Colorado law license or ability to obtain one promptly.
• Strong work ethic, excellent written and verbal communication, and detail‑oriented organization.
• Ability to manage time effectively, adjust priorities, and maintain thorough case notes.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Office 365.
• Spanish language ability is preferred but not required.
