Staff Accountant

About the role

Join Continental Finance Company, a fast‑growing fintech leader in credit‑card marketing and servicing for consumers with less‑than‑perfect credit. As a Staff Accountant you will support the Accounting team in maintaining the General Ledger and ensuring accurate financial reporting under GAAP.

Key responsibilities

• Assist Accounting Managers with daily, monthly and year‑end operations.
• Process and record accounts payable, staff reimbursements and expense allocations.
• Handle accruals, amortization, fixed‑asset depreciation and adjusting journal entries.
• Perform general account analysis and reconciliations, including bank statements and benefit costs.
• Verify vendor data accuracy and prepare general‑ledger entries.
• Identify and implement process improvements to streamline accounting procedures.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
• At least 1 year of credit‑card or financial‑services experience (preferred).
• Experience reconciling cash accounts (preferred).
• Strong organizational, analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (advanced).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word.
• Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint.
